Treating a Goose Egg
Ethan came home from school with a big "goose egg" on the back of his head. I was afraid it would be hard for him to sleep and wanted to put some cold on it to help reduce the swelling. Mark grabbed an ice pack in the freezer and strapped it on his head. It looks pretty ridiculous but it seemed to help!

Sunday Outing
We started the day by going to the Tabernacle on Temple Square to watch Music and the Spoken Word. We then went "Temple Hopping" to get the kids pictures taken in front of the temples. It is our goal to get their picture taken in front of as many temples as possible. It is amazing how many temples there are in such a small area. The kids were way too tired to even hit Mt. Timpanogus or Provo. We will get those on another day.

Hidden Treasure!
When Mark was working out of his office in Salt Lake, they had pizza from the "Pie" brought in. Mark fell in love with it and wanted to find the actual sit-down location. It was literally in the basement of some out of the way place in Salt Lake near the U of U campus. The kids were quite leary at first because the place was kind of creepy and dark to them. Once they tasted the incredible cheese bread, chicken wings and pizza they fell in love with the place. It was obvious other people love it just as much since it was so crowded. It was a good lesson learned for the kids that YES good food can be found outside of regular chain restaurants!
Oktoberfest!
We were finally able to go somewhere as an entire family. Wahoo!!! We went to Snowbird's annual Oktoberfest. We bought the kids wristbands so they could have unlimited fun on the Alpine Slide, Zip Line, Trampoline Bungee Jump and Rock Climbing. Shelby opted NOT to have the wrist band and hung out with "the adults". The weather was perfect and we had a great time. The only glitch of the day was when Ethan decided to take off from the girls and got lost. He ended up tracking down a security guard who stayed with him until Mark, Shelby and I got back from our hike. He learned a valuable lesson of NOT taking off from the people he is supposed to be with!

School is in Session!
Where did the summer go?! Wow!!! The kids started school today. I think Elisha was probably the most nervous since she was the only one entering a different school. They came home very excited about the new year. Shelby is on the fast track to get her Drivers License so she can drive herself to school and avoid the crowded bus! Elisha is VERY excited about being in High School. Sydney is my lone Jr. High child and is excited/nervous about dancing with boys in her ballroom dance class. Ethan came home "totally bored" because all the teacher did was go over rules which "he already knows!"

Thanksgiving Point
I thought I would get Mark out of the house for some "Physical Therapy" and walk around the gardens at Thanksgiving Point. We were able to take Syd and Shelby too. We had a great time - but as you can see from the final picture, it absolutely exhausted Mark and he needed a good elbow in the back to help break some knots!

"Y" Not!?
My mom was born and raised in Provo. She is 64 years old and has NEVER hiked "Y" mountain. She has made a "bucket list" of things she wants to do before she dies which includes hiking "Y" mountain. We figured if a 64 year old GRANDMA could do it - then surely we could too! The irony of the whole thing was that we were ALL stiff and sore the next day EXCEPT for Grandma. She only complained of slightly sore calves. Way to go mom!!!
